A little about me: I was born in South Port, NC. As a matter of fact, most of my family still lives in the New Hanover/Brunswick County area. However, I spent most of my school-age years in Ohio, where I also pursued my degrees.
I earned my undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. While studying MIS, I learned about technology law, internet law, privacy and intellectual property. I was later introduced to business law. My interest in innovation and business, and helping people integrate these burgeoning areas of law into their lives, is what lead me to law school.
Prior to law school, I worked for an insurance company in the information technology department. I worked in hardware, networking and project management. The experiences and influences further encouraged me to pursue a law degree.
I studied law at Cleveland State University, Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in Cleveland, Ohio, where I earned a Juris Doctor (JD) degree. I have always been interested in gaining elite business knowledge, so I decided to get my Masters in Business Administration (MBA) while in law school. I actually completed both JD and MBA degrees in four years, while working full-time with a family. To be honest, that is one of my proudest accomplishments.
I started the Brewington Law Firm, PLLC in 2009: 1)to be a legal partner and friend to creatives, entrepreneurs and small business owners; 2) help injured people; and 3) teach those who may not have used an attorney in the past, how choosing the right legal partner could improve your conditions. Most importantly, I wanted a practice that was outside of the traditional law model, which was client-focused and an early adopter of positive innovation that adds value to clients' needs. The firm exists to give clients options, whether it be the use of technology, fee agreements, practice areas or unbundled legal services. Let's talk about how we can help you and your interests.
