A little about me: I was born in South Port, NC. As a matter of fact, most of my family still live in the New Hanover/Brunswick County area. However, I spent most of my school-age years in Ohio, where I also pursued my degrees.
I earned my undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. While studying MIS, I learned about cool developing areas of law like technology law, internet law, privacy and intellectual property . My interest in innovation, business and helping people integrate these burgeoning areas of law into their lives is what lead me to law school.
I studied law at Cleveland State University, Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in Cleveland, Ohio; where I earned a Juris Doctor (JD) degree. I have always been interested in gaining elite business knowledge, so I decided to get my Masters in Business Administration (MBA) while in law school. I actually completed both degrees, JD and MBA, in four years, while working full-time with a family. To be honest, that is one of my proudest accomplishments.
I started the Brewington Law Firm, PLLC in 2009 because I wanted a practice outside of the traditional law model - client-focused, being an early adopter of positive innovation that adds value to clients' needs. The firm exists to give clients options - about the use of technology, fee agreements, practice areas and unbundled services - while disrupting the traditional law firm model.
