Our vision is to be the premier client-focused, affordable cost provider of legal services in the state of North Carolina.

The Brewington Law Firm, PLLC practices law over the entire state of North Carolina. We plan to provide the best value in the state for clients seeking representation in the areas of law that we practice. We plan to be the undeniable choice for clients that research online for in-state legal services, whether brick & mortar or virtual law office.

Business Philosophy:

We believe the practice of law is a customer service business, where every client receives best in-class client service which includes: zealous advocacy, thoughtful counsel, detail-oriented planning, strong legal knowledge and integrity.  Every client will be kept informed about their case, and phone calls are promptly returned.

Our approach is to talk to our clients to better understand their goals, complete thorough legal and business research & analysis to ensure the most up-to-date information regarding our clients’ issues, and then give solid counsel on the most beneficial and cost efficient way to achieve those goals.  Once our clients’ goals are defined and agreed upon, we then will vigorously defend or pursue our clients’ interests.

We believe the practice of law is evolving, and to provide the best value to clients, a law firm must embrace technology and changes in the legal profession. Technology has significantly changed the legal landscape, which is why we believe in embracing new technologies to further help our clients. Most importantly, we understand leveraging technology will ultimately be the method to continue offering cost-efficient services.

Finally, we truly believe in the importance of providing service to community organizations – charitable & nonprofit - through pro bono representation. Law is a service profession, and to carry through with the total commitment to the community in which an attorney works, we believe the attorney must be involved in the community. We think service to the community gives attorneys the opportunity to help charitable passions outside of the legal profession and an understanding of community issues. Further, it is important to give the public access to attorneys.

We love the practice of law!

Barry L. Brewington

Senior Attorney

A little about me: I was born in South Port, NC.  As a matter of fact, most of my family still lives in the New Hanover/Brunswick County area.  However, I spent most of my school-age years in Ohio, where I also pursued my degrees.

My undergraduate degree is in Management Information Systems (MIS) from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio.  While studying MIS, I learned about cool developing areas of law.  No, I didn't decide to go to law school for any altruistic reason, I went because the legal subjects I learned in class seemed exciting.

I studied the law at Cleveland State University, Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in Cleveland, Ohio.  I am ambitious, so I decided to get my Masters in Business Administration (MBA) while in law school.

The most amazing thing happened while I was in law school - I fell in love with the law.  Constitutional Law tells an incredible FACTUAL story of the United States, Civil Procedure outlines more about the legal system than I ever imagined and Property was the most exciting, yet boring, subject illustrating the illogical legal system that has far more to offer than one realizes.  These classes, along with several others, changed my perspective about my purpose to practice law.  By the end of law school, I wanted to help as many people as possible with my newly acquired legal knowledge.

I started the Brewington Law Firm, PLLC in 2009 because I wanted to take ownership of my work and my future.  The firm exists to give clients options - about the use of technology, fee agreements, practice areas and unbundled services - while disrupting the traditional law firm model.  Let's talk about how we can help you and your interests.  You can read more about me on Social Media using the links below.  I look forward to hearing from you.
